About KDB Construction

Still on
the tools.

An Auckland main contractor since 2015, led by directors who came up on site and still pick up the tools when it counts.

Our story

A decade
on the tools.

KDB Construction was founded in 2015 by Mark Kerr and Fraser Bourne, starting as a two-person operation with one aim: deliver buildings on programme, on budget and to a standard they would put their own name to.

Since then we've grown into a trusted main contractor across Greater Auckland, with 20+ Ministry of Education builds and 100+ homes delivered. We work across commercial, education, multi-residential and residential, and bring the same discipline to every one.

What sets us apart is simple: our directors came up through the tools. They understand what a set of drawings actually means on site, so the price is real, the programme is honest, and the people running your job have built it before.

How we work

Control. Clarity.
Accountability.

01

Control

In-house crews and hands-on directors keep us on the critical path, not waiting on someone else.

02

Clarity

03

Accountability

One main contractor, one point of responsibility, from first site visit to a clean handover.

Health & safety

Everyone home
safe, every day.

A fully documented health & safety system underpins every KDB site, meeting the standard required for Ministry of Education, Kāinga Ora and commercial work.

Site-specific safety plans

A safety plan tailored to every site and scope before work starts.

Daily pre-starts

Toolbox talks and pre-start briefings that align the crew on the day's risks.

JSEA & task analysis

Job safety and environmental analysis for every high-risk task.

Hazard & risk registers

Live hazard and risk registers maintained throughout the build.
